FAQs

Thinking of booking us for your wedding, party or event? Here's a list of frequently asked questions... Have a read and contact us if you need us to clarify anything else.

How long do you play for?

A typical performance involves two one-hour sets with a 15-minute break in between. We can play for longer if required.

Do you do requests?

Even if you don't have it as a first dance, we'll still do a song of your choice. Contact us beforehand for more info.

Do you play the first dance?

We do. Let us know in advance the song you require and we'll learn it and perform it. And of course if you'd prefer your first dance to be to recorded music, we can cue this up for you too.

Do you play music between sets?

We can provide a dedicated, professional DJ service. We can also cue up your own playlists from an iPod or similar; contact us before the day to arrange.

Do we need to provide any equipment?

No. We're fully self-sufficient and will provide all music equipment and PA regardless of whether these are available at the venue or not. We can also provide full lighting, but we'll need to know in advance if this is required.

Do you need a sound check at the venue? Can you set up during the meal/reception?

Acoustics vary from venue to venue, and ideally, we’d like a brief soundcheck to ensure that the band's sound is balanced and is of the highest quality. However we can get by with a line check, and we can set up stealthily while your guests enjoy the reception/meal.

Can I sing a song with the band?

Yes you can. But we'll have to make sure we know well in advance so we can learn the song, and if you want it played in a different key, or you want to rehearse it with us beforehand, let us know.

What will you wear?

We'll look exactly like we do in the photos on the site, though Sarah will probably have another one of her endless array of amazing dresses on.

How much do you charge?

Our fees are competitive but they vary based on the needs of the occasion – length of sets required, provision of DJ, long-distance travel etc. Contact us or give Daniel Thomas a call on 07929 164378.

How far afield will you travel?

We'll travel anywhere! But bear in mind we're based in Bristol, so beyond a certain distance we'll have to add extra travel costs to our fee.

Can I come and see you play before booking you?

We regularly play public gigs in and around the Bristol and Bath area. Check here for our gig dates, and come and say hello on the night, we'd love to meet you and we can answer any questions you might have.

Do you have any more songs I can listen to?

We'll be putting up some new songs very soon. If you haven't already, then have a listen to us!

Can you play outside gigs?

Yes, provided there's a marquee or similar to keep our equipment dry.

Can we hire you for longer during the event?

Of course, let us know on the night, or during our interval and we'll work something out.

Do you have the necessary insurance?

Dan T's Inferno has Public Liability Cover. All details are covered in our booking contract and available on request.

What do we need to ask our venue before you play?

All we need to know is that the venue has a Music Licence so we can legally play there, and what time we can make noise until. 99 out of 100 wedding reception/party venues will have a suitable licence and will be happy with music until late in the evening.

Do you play really beautiful guitars?

Yes. As a matter of fact we do.

How does the booking process work?

Contact us or give Daniel Thomas a call on 07929 164378. Once we've discussed your requirements and agreed on them, we'll draft up a contract and send it to you. You sign this and return it with a deposit (typically 25% of the fee) to book us; and that's it.
